Welcome to the PUNKY CREW!
Come and join us for a spring term of wildness, adventures, fire, games, making, exploring and connection.
We have 4 amazing mentors ready for all the fun and adventure!
Punk Caterpillar is a nature-based program where children get to slow down, get wild, make things, play freely and build a genuine connection with one another, our mentors and the natural world.
Each day might include:
- Fire cooking and damper
- Bush wandering and nature exploration
- Bushcraft and making
- Wild games and big-body play
- Creative nature-based activities
- Stories, seasonal connection and simple ceremony
- Time to explore, connect, imagine and just BE
Everyone will bring a piece of fruit to chop and share for morning tea, we will bring our traditional choc-chip cookies (GF/DF), everyone will bring a packed lunch and we will sort out everything to make damper on the fire each week.
We create a space where children can be themselves, follow their curiosity and develop confidence through real experiences, supported by caring mentors and a strong sense of community.
A little bit about Punk Caterpillar
Punk Caterpillar is a small, grassroots bush school founded in 2021 by Nectar Connector, a qualified generalist primary teacher, PE and yoga teacher and graduate of both The Wild School regenerative leadership program and the Nature Apprentice nature-based leadership program.
With more than 20 years' experience working with children across diverse settings, along with mentoring on Nature Philosophy's Wild Village and Firekeepers camps and nature-based gatherings across Victoria and NSW, Nectar brings a deep passion for connection with place, the elements, ceremony, food, play and FUN.
Punk Caterpillar grew from a desire to create the kind of childhood space where kids can climb, jump, wander, take appropriate risks, get dirty, make fires, create, explore and belong.
Our amazing crew of passionate mentors bring their own diverse skills, creativity and love of nature to the program. Together, we create a nourishing space for curiosity, confidence and connection to one another, ourselves and Country.
Come and try it out
We know every person is different, so there is an option to attend a casual session if your child would like to come and experience Punk Caterpillar before committing to the whole term.
Places are limited so we can maintain a beautiful balance between mentors and children and give each person plenty of support and space to explore.
Payment plans are available on request.
If finances are a limiting factor, please reach out. We'd love to have a conversation.
